Tuesday 20th August

Preview
Birmingham has some incredible venues and that day ahead takes in many of them, starting with the NEC 3.5 miles into the day. St Andrews, home of Birmingham City follows at mile 10.5. Hammerson’s Bullring and Grand Central Station come just ahead of the cathedral at mile 12.

Heading North towards Lichfield the route divides Villa Park on the right and Birmingham Alexander Stadium to the left at mile 15. The latter is home to Birchfield Harriers, the UK’s premier athletics club. I’ll be asking for a loop of the famous track.

Then I visit Sutton Park on the way to Lichfield Cathedral. Lichfield has a history that links it with the Midlands Enlightenment and the Lunar Society.

During the day we will hope to get together with the management team from Roamler, to discuss the app that has been supporting runners of the TOE.
