The route goes via Beningbourgh Hall and Gardens (National Trust), a Georgian mansion with art gallery.

Most of the other key sites of the day come on entering, going through and exiting York with diversions from the presecribed route likely. Jorvik Viking Centre, The Shambles and of course the Gothic materpiece, the Minster, are all on the visit list.

The end destination, Copmanthorpe is where the RAF’s 57 Squadron was formed.
