The Special Delivery very nearly didn’t make it into my Words&Deeds Lab as I had left the brown dog on Reception Duty and she was camouflaged in the brown shadows under a brown bush in the garden. So, it was a frozen mid motion postie who waved a promising white envelope in my general direction, trying not to alert the sleepy receptionist, for which I duly signed.
And opened…
And what a treat. For sales agency Powerforce had singled me and my endeavours out for badge recognition. These badges, wrapped in a tidy hessian sack, do not purport to be easily earned. I quote “You now have your Powerforce lanyard and your goal is to earn as many badges as you can with your brilliant work. There are three stages available, and you move through them from Bronze to Gold. You can earn as many badges as deserved. Wear them with pride, they are recognition of you thinking differently, creating clever solutions and demonstrating your passion.”
Well, I’m not entirely sure how my demonstration of passion was observed from faraway Powerforceland but it is an emotion I have in good supply, so perhaps they guessed at it – rather than something rather more worrying, like the email I recently received from a proclaimed hacker who, in a somewhat threatening tone, announced that he had been observing my onanism by controlling my computer camera and demanded bitcoins to halt his sharing of the resulting video.
I feel that the risk is slight, and worth taking, and may even cast me in a good light, so I have held onto my non-existent virtual currency. Watch this space – or perhaps don’t.
Anyway, my delight could not have been greater, as Powerforce have awarded me all three badges immediately.
I am now wearing the gold bolt, with pride as directed.
And do you know what, the adornment did give me a bit of a lift? Powerforce is indeed a force to be reckoned with, and often very a joyful one. Fortunately for us all, and more specifically some excellent field sales people that they deploy, Powerforce is on the side of the hard working, determined and righteous.
